It’s a pleasure to meet you!

I’m Michelle, a Holistic Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving clients in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida, and the founder of Origins Holistic Psychotherapy. My approach is integrative in nature, blending depth-oriented psychotherapy, mind-body methods, and psychospirituality when appropriate.

I have always been interested in what exists beneath the surface of our daily experience. Why do we repeat patterns we are fully aware of? Why can we understand exactly where a negative thought/experience comes from and still have that concept control our life? What might our anxiety, emotions, or even physical symptoms be communicating? These questions have shaped the way I practice therapy.

My journey in mental health began in 2010 while completing my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Stetson University. I began my career in community mental health, providing individual, group, and family therapy to children, young adults, and families.

In 2015, I had the incredible opportunity to live and travel overseas. Experiencing different cultures, belief systems, and ways of understanding life expanded the way I see people and the human experience. It was also one of the coolest adventures of my life!

After moving to Atlanta in 2018, I continued working with clients, supervising emerging clinicians, teaching, speaking, and deepening my training in mind-body approaches to psychotherapy. In 2024, I earned my Ph.D. from Mercer University, where my research explored how women living with chronic pain use self-compassion and gratitude to navigate their experiences.

Over the years, my work has evolved beyond any single modality or theory. I believe insight is incredibly powerful, but sometimes understanding ourselves intellectually is only part of the work. My passion is helping people explore themselves more deeply, reconnect with their bodies and inner worlds, and develop a more compassionate relationship with who they are and the life they are creating.

a customized service
For each client

I don't believe healing happens through a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person comes into therapy with a different story, nervous system, personality, and way of experiencing the world. That's why I tailor each session to you, thoughtfully integrating different therapeutic approaches based on what emerges and what will best support your growth.

Over the past decade, I've worked primarily with adults navigating anxiety, grief, chronic pain or illness, trauma, perfectionism, relationship concerns, overwhelming stress, life transitions, creative blocks, and spiritual exploration. Rather than following a rigid treatment plan, I meet you where you are and adapt our work together as your healing unfolds.

i’m passionate about‍ ‍health + wellness

I believe healing happens when we care for the whole person: mind, body, and the deeper parts of ourselves that often go unseen. That belief shapes both my work as a psychotherapist and the way I approach my own life.

Outside the office, I'm a wife, mom, educator, supervisor, and content creator. I'm interested in exploring what it means to be human, particularly how we navigate anxiety, uncertainty, suffering, and the parts of life we cannot always control. Much of my personal and professional philosophy has been influenced by Buddhist teachings, esoteric wisdom, and the work of spiritual teachers such as Pema Chödrön, Tara Brach, Carl Jung, and Eckhart Tolle.

My own grounding comes from time in nature, movement, mindfulness, music (especially playing piano!), and a meaningful spiritual practice. I believe there's so much wisdom to be found when we become curious about ourselves, our patterns, our fears, and the ways we respond to life's challenges.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing is an embodied process. It involves understanding your mind, listening to your body, developing compassion for your experiences, and learning how to be present with life, even when it's uncomfortable or uncertain. My hope is to help others deepen their awareness, reconnect with themselves, and move through life with greater consciousness, intention, and trust in their own inner wisdom.
