It’s a pleasure to meet you!
I’m Hayley Lovelace, and I am a licensed psychotherapist. I obtained my counseling degree from Jacksonville State University in December of 2020. I picked up and moved from rural Alabama to a beautiful city tucked in the woods, called Atlanta Georgia, to pursue my Ph. D in counseling and supervision, where I am now in the dissertation phase of the program.
I have a background in working with substance abuse, eating disorders, adolescents and families, and often like to implement integrative/holistic and somatic experiencing techniques in practice, along with ACT and DBT modalities.
Although it may sound unconventional, I see doubt as a strength and catalyst to transformation in many regards. One of my favorite quotes regarding therapy is by Carl Rogers, who said: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.” When we are able to embrace the curiosity of “Why am I actually the way that I am, the way that I think, the way that I feel?” I believe that this can give us the insight to empower ourselves to take aligned actions that are most closely attuned to our authentic selves, making space for healthy challenges towards our thoughts/schema, our feelings, and our behaviors, leading to growth and healing.
My main objective is to give you a safe, affirming environment so that you can come as you are, regardless of your circumstances, culture, identity, and belief systems, and experience healing and growth through regulation and alignment of your nervous system and energy fields as your foundation to further your healing and self-discovery.
Nature has consistently been a refuge for me in the spiritual and emotional sense. Now more than ever, I recognize the unique and sacred relationship and affinity that humans have to nature, and I truly believe that there is so much healing and self-discovery to be found outdoors! I discuss this in more detail in my dissertation, and I would be happy to hold our sessions outdoors upon request.

the fun stuff
I make sure when I am not assisting clients with becoming their highest selves, I am spending time meditating or practicing mindful movement in nature. I also have a proclivity for nurturing my plants! It is my dream to own and tend to my own garden in the future.
I also make sure to care for myself by exercising, cooking, loving on my cat, Remy, traveling, checking out eccentric metaphysical stores, or trying out a new local coffee shop.

“Nature has been for me, for as long as I remember, a source of solace, inspiration, adventure, and delight; a home, a teacher, a companion."
Hayley L.
